The reels are in great shape, especially the Orvis one. I just took a toothbrush and some soap to them and they look brand new. The CFO balances perfectly with my Echo Carbon 8'4wt.
Today I went through all the old flies, determined what was usable, and organized my fly boxes with the new materials. He lived for a long time in California and fished a lot out west, so a lot of the stuff isn't ideal, but some of it should work fine.
