I have gone out to local streams since I was 12.
It is tradition and we took my buddy's son when he was starting out. When he was little it was a good chance to show him and teach him all about stream courtisy. Nothing makes a kid more aware of this than being stomped on all day. They learn patience and tolerance with a bit of guidance and are more prone to be aware not to do it to others.
We go to breakfast and hit the stream around 10:00am now. Can't miss the tradition, the crazy stories and people we see and talk to each year.
